Use of these materials is fairly easy, but there are a few things you need to know... The contents of the file are copyrighted, so you will need the accountname and password given out in class. When you click on a link for one of the Powerpoint files, a window will pop up, asking for the accountname and password. Type them in, using all lowercase letters. When you have successfully entered them, you will have access to any of the files, until you close your browser. This security allows us to comply with "fair use" policies. Do not share this password. Do not distribute these files. The files are the same PowerPoint presentations used in class. Most of the material is from your textbook, but some is from other sources. Some of these files may be large (by internet standards); more than several mb. This should not be a problem if you are viewing them using Internet Explorer, from a university machine on campus. Elsewhere, you will need PowerPoint or a browser plugin to view them, and they will take a while to download. When you click on a link to a PowerPoint file, there will be a brief delay, and then the first "slide" should appear within the browser. Navigation: The rightarrow or the pagedown keys will take you to the next slide. The leftarrow or the pageup keys will take you to the previous slide. Dragging the slider along the righthand edge of the browser window will allow you to quickly jump to any slide. When you are finished viewing the presentation, the backbutton in your browser will take you back to the class page, where you may choose another file, (or surf elsewhere). To limit access to the appropriate people, please remember to close your browser when you are finished, and do not select "remember password" when prompted. If you experience difficulties, please let us know.
